This afternoon the girls and I went over to the school for an organized hour of play. I pushed the kids (mine and others') on the swings. There were active games led by someone from the school. Magoo played a bit and then admitted that it took too much attention for her. There was a game of dominoes with HUGE dominoes made from plywood. As Junior was playing with me against a grownup and a six year old, we sort of made up our own rules as we went along. After the other team won, we played on eventually making a dragon shape with the dominoes. What was meant to be an enrollment opportunity didn't really turn out to be. It did, however, turn out to be a good community builder. We had a nice time and hope for more afternoons at the school like this one.
As you may have read before, our school is in financial need. If, after viewing the video below you feel moved to do so, click the Chip In link to the left of my page. Every little bit helps. This Mom Loves our Waldorf community.
